Mountains of Mountain Color
I have so much Mountain Color yarn, I hardly know what to do with it all!
It all started when I decide to make myself a cardigan-- myself-- not someone else, for once. I love the sweaters in the Ggreen Mountain Spinnery book, but I always have to change things around. That's the way I am. No collar, different yarn, different edging, etc. Then I went to Woolwinders to find the perfect yarn-- and it is gorgeous-- Mountain Goat in Lodgegrass color, hand-dyed by Mountain Color Yarns. I bought 8 skeins, which I thought would be enough.
Well, it is a mountain of yarn. I finished the cardigan with just four skeins. What to do with the rest. It's too pretty to take back. So I designed a skirt-- Rib knit around the waist, add on stitches and start a knit 4 purl 1 pattern around the body, adding 2 more stitches every 4 rows. It is knee-length now with 1 1/2 skeins to go. It will be too hot to wear until Fall, but it is worth it. GORGEOUS!!!
